Brock's Gap IDPA

Get ready for the 2012 Masters IDPA Championship! Click here for info and application.

Brock’s Gap IDPA is an official IDPA-affiliated club that sponsors challenging and fun IDPA pistol matches on the second Saturday and (except for November and sometimes December) the fourth Thursday of each month.  All matches are held at the Brock’s Gap Training Center Action Pistol range (Range F—click the tab above for directions to Brock's Gap Training Center, and click the link below for a virtual drive to F range). Matches are open to the public, and new shooters are welcome (click the "New Shooter FAQ" tab above for all you need to know to get started).

Whether you’re a newcomer to IDPA shooting or an IDPA veteran, Brock’s Gap IDPA offers you a safe and challenging way to sharpen your shooting skills while enjoying a fun day at the range with friends new and old. We look forward to having you join us at one of our monthly matches.

Start time for the Saturday matches is 10:00 a.m. when central standard time is in effect and 9:00 a.m. under daylight saving time. Thursday and Monday matches begin at 6:00 p.m. For all matches, you should be there at least 30 minutes early to sign up and get squad assignments. Match fee for all club-level matches is $10. Match fee for junior shooters (under age 18) shooting with a parent is $5.

Our Saturday matches typically consist of six courses of fire with a round count of 90 to 120.  Our Thursday matches are primarily designed to give shooters the opportunity to practice their skills in low-light conditions. During the winter, the entire Thursday match (typically four courses of fire, 70 to 100 rounds) is shot in the dark using flashlights; during other months, flashlights may or may not be necessary depending on the time of year and the length of the match. The Monday matches usually consist of four relatively simple stages with a smaller round count.

Brock’s Gap IDPA also sponsors the annual Masters IDPA Championship. This is a major sanctioned match that is a challenging test for all shooters from Marksman to Master. Click “The Masters” tab above for more information.

Click the "Winner's Circle" tab above to see how some of our regular shooters have fared in major matches around the Southeast.

Click the "Shooters' Forum" tab above to join a discussion board oriented toward the interests (shooting, firearms, politics, culture, and more) of practical shooters in the northern Alabama area. There's no better way to keep up with what your fellow shooters are thinking and doing. On your first visit, you'll have to register with a name and password. After that, just post an introduction and join the discussion. Our thanks to Jim Clark for setting up the Shootability forum and to our other friends in North Alabama for serving as moderators. We appreciate your efforts in providing us with this great resource.
